Based on an instrument in the German National Museum, Nuremburg, and numerous iconographical references.

 

This harp has a sycamore neck, pillar and soundbox, and has 26

strings tuned G-d’’’.

 

Other tunings are possible including that described by Mersenne in Harmonie Universale 1636, with both a b natural and a b flat in the two upper octaves.
